Not everyone will get the posting of their choice. So to move to the place of your preference, there is swapping. However, there are certain rules to be followed when you opt for a swap.
There are 2 CGPA brackets. Above 4.30 and below 4.30. You can only swap with a person belonging to your CGPA bracket. However, you can go to HR and if he agrees, you can swap with someone belonging to the other CGPA bracket also.
The following rules are to be followed when you go for a swap.
You can swap only by using the swap portal.
You cannot swap by publishing swap information on bulletin board or sending mass mails to everyone belonging to your batch. Your swap can be cancelled by the HR if you are found to have found a partner to swap in this way.
After postings are announced, you will get 100 mails everyday from unknown people asking for swap in your poor 10 MB mailbox. So, it is necessary for them to keep such rules for swapping.
You cannot swap with a person who has already left the company midway in training.
You can only swap with a person in your stream. (.NET people cant swap with Java people).
Your Business Unit will also change and it would be of the person that you swap with.
For example, you have got posting as IVS(Independent Validation Solutions), Mysore and you swap with someone having CME (Communication, Media, Entertainment), Bangalore, your Business Unit will also change from IVS to CME.

k chintan.. tell me aft working hours when we go for study can we(frnds from same college) sit together and we discuss using pc in gec...or they provide separate pc to all ah.. 2) another doubt is can we sit together in classroom or they allocate the seat in class room.. plz clarify my doubts/

I dont know about that. And your location does not depend on stream. Its only for our batch that people got posting at Chandigarh directly. Otherwise no batch has ever got posting at Chandigarh so requirements for them seem to be less.

I dont think you will have any probs. But cant say for sure. And i dont think it was by mistake that you wrote that there was no gap. Anyways, i dont think that would be a problem. But the exact information on this can be given by only HR and i dont think you should cotact him. So just join Infosys as of now.
I have already said many times that:
There is NO logic for the allocation of DOJs, for streams or for postings.

You can do without any programming skills if you are ready to learn sincerely.

File handling is not there... Yes, you will be able to complete it... And also they cut very less marks in Hands On and Project. I lost 1 hr's work in my generic hands on but still managed 38 with the C program not running.

There are projects about Insurance Information System, Airline-Railway Reservation System, Electricity Bill etc...

i wanted to ask you something for my friend, suppose a persons cgpa is less than 4 after stream compre but becomes greater than 4 after post, will the trainee be allowed to stay.

You cannot swap in production for atleast 1 or 2 years as far as i know. So if after infosys training at mysore you get posted to some place you dont like, the only option remaining will be to change the company.
